According to the president of the Federation of Bank Workers of Bahia and Sergipe, Emanoel Souza, the strike movement is maintained at least until Monday (23) and there has been no negotiation with the banks yet.

There are 295 branches in the capital and about 950 throughout Bahia, employing 18 bank workers. The Correio newspaper visited nine branches yesterday in the Comércio and Avenida Sete de Setembro neighborhoods and found that all of them had suspended banking services and their facades were covered with posters alluding to the strike.

In Graça, the Bradesco branch on Rua Euclides da Cunha remained open, with a police car parked outside. Those needing banking services will have to use ATMs, the internet, or lottery outlets.
