The government will pay the first installment of the 13th-month salary to retirees in August.

Chief of Staff Minister Eliseu Padilha announced this afternoon that the government will resume the payment schedule for the 13th-month salary of retirees and pensioners who receive benefits from the National Social Security Institute (INSS); with this, the first installment of the benefit will begin to be paid on August 25th; the second installment this year will be paid starting November 24th.

Ivan Richard, from Agência Brasil - The Chief Minister of the Civil House, Eliseu Padilha, informed this afternoon (28) that the government will resume the payment schedule for the 13th salary of retirees and pensioners who receive from the National Institute of Social Security (INSS).

Therefore, the first installment of the benefit will begin to be paid on August 25th. Last year, due to the crisis, the government of then-President Dilma Rousseff postponed the payment of the first installment of the 13th-month salary from August to September.

The second installment for this year will be paid starting November 24th.

The announcement was made by Padilha after a meeting with the working group that discusses alternatives for pension reform, at the Planalto Palace.
