Goiás 247 - By order of Governor Marconi Perillo, the Goiás Agency for Transport and Public Works (Agetop) has resumed the duplication of the 48-kilometer stretch of the GO-213 state highway, which connects Morrinhos to Caldas Novas. The resources come from the Goiás na Frente Program budget, and the total investment is R$ 152 million. Currently, workers and machines are carrying out earthmoving work and preparing the ground to receive the paving.

The GO-213 state highway is strategic for the economic development of the region and the state, especially tourism. In addition to the construction of the second lane, the project involves the reconstruction of the existing lane, construction of a bridge over the Piracanjuba River, culverts, turnarounds, access roads, lighting, horizontal and vertical signage, and landscaping in the median.

To date, approximately 30% of the road widening project has been completed at both ends. This includes the stretches from Caldas Novas to the junction with GO-139 and the entrance to Morrinhos. Another 30 kilometers of the project remain, scheduled for completion in the second half of 2018.

The estimated cost of the duplication will be R$ 152 million. With this, Agetop guarantees drivers greater safety and peace of mind when traveling on GO-213, a road heavily used by those traveling from São Paulo, Brasília, or Goiânia to Caldas Novas via BR-153.
