Goiás 247 - Governor Marconi Perillo delivered 351 new machines and vehicles to Saneago so that it can further improve its service to the population in the capital and the interior. The ceremony was held on Thursday morning (September 5th) at the Jaime Câmara Water Treatment Plant, in the Negrão de Lima sector, in Goiânia.

Marconi said that in the last 15 days Saneago has experienced two major events that will mark the company's life in the medium and long term: the recent "inauguration of the Mauro Borges Production System," and now the delivery of these machines and equipment, "which demonstrate our commitment to the largest public company in Goiás, in favor of the people of Goiás."

The State Treasury achieved a 16% savings on the acquisition of vehicles compared to the market price. Recently, we allocated R$ 100 million from the privatization of Celg to Saneago, a company in which the government is the majority shareholder,” emphasized Marconi.

Recalling his four terms as governor of the state of Goiás, he said that in 1998 Saneago had “fewer than 12 sewage treatment plants. Today there are almost 100 plants. We more than doubled the length of the sewage network in Goiás. We more than doubled the number of people served.”

Privatization, no - According to the governor, during his four terms leading the State Executive, the rhetoric that "Marconi Perillo would privatize the state's sanitation company" was always heard. Recent investments, such as the Mauro Borges Production System, which received an investment of almost R$ 1 billion, "demonstrate the opposite, that this company is strategic for the State of Goiás. In recent years, we have more than doubled the number of people served with sewage collection and treatment, for example."

The machinery delivered today consists of 34 backhoe loaders and 317 vehicles that will improve the provision of sanitation services in the capital and the interior. The municipalities with the largest number of Saneago customers will receive 34 backhoe loaders, manufactured this year, 4x4, with cabin and air conditioning. “We are showing once again that Saneago is a leading company. Saneago is a transparent, innovative company that values its customers and its employees,” said Saneago's Production Director, Marco Túlio.

The company currently has a total of 487 leased vehicles. Of this fleet, 317 will be replaced by new ones of the same model, but manufactured in 2017. With the revised values, the replacement will represent savings of R$ 4 million per year in leasing costs. “Soon, by the end of this year, we will deliver other equipment to complete the structure and provide excellent services. Strength is for the machine. Man has to use his head. He has to use his experience, his technique,” declared the president of Saneago, Jalles Fontoura. He guaranteed that Saneago, functioning well as it is, “is the guarantee of the universalization of the supply of treated water.”

The acquisition of the equipment occurred after technical studies identified long-term cost reductions, improved working conditions, and optimization in the provision of basic sanitation services to the population. The head of Secima, Vilmar Rocha, congratulated the Saneago employees and emphasized that they “feel proud to work for the company. This is good because it helps the company move forward and benefits the end customer.”
