Government pays first installment of 13th salary today
The measure benefits approximately 180 public servants from the three branches of government in Ceará. "We guaranteed the advance payment of the first installment of the 13th-month salary, and we are the first in Brazil. Similarly, we have kept the salaries of all public servants up to date, unlike what is happening in many states today," said Governor Camilo Santana (PT).
Ceará247 - The State Government guaranteed this Tuesday (5) the payment of the first installment of the 13th salary for public servants. The measure benefits around 180 thousand employees from the three branches of government, with 140 thousand from the Executive branch. "We gave the guarantee of anticipating the first installment of the 13th salary and we are the first in Brazil. Similarly, we have kept the salaries of all employees up to date, unlike what is happening in many states today," highlighted Governor Camilo Santana (PT).
The benefit was announced on June 6th by the governor, after a meeting with the unions and associations representing public employees at the Permanent State Negotiation Table (MENP). At that time, a 10,67% across-the-board increase was announced for employees receiving minimum wage. For other employees, negotiations continue on a category-by-category basis, correcting distortions.
With the payment of the first installment of the 13th-month salary in 2016, the Government of Ceará maintains the trend of anticipating the benefit. Last year, the first installment was paid on July 10th. “This represents peace of mind for all our employees, assuring them that their salaries are a priority for the Government of Ceará. In December, we will ensure the payment of the second installment of the 13th-month salary,” reinforced the Secretary of Finance, Mauro Filho.
