'Illegitimate government only destroys legacies,' says congressman about Moraes.
State Representative Alex Lima (PTN) used the podium of the Legislative Assembly of Bahia this Wednesday to criticize the government of Michel Temer for its attack on workers' rights and for the approval of Alexandre de Moraes for the Supreme Federal Court; "There was no impartiality with this nomination, and history repeats itself when a popular government is replaced by a conservative government that never truly thought about the progress of the country. We are increasingly going against democracy, the rule of law, and the achievements obtained in recent times," said Lima.
Bahia 247 - State deputy Alex Lima (PTN) used the platform of the Legislative Assembly of Bahia this Wednesday (22) to criticize the government of Michel Temer for the attack against workers' rights and for the approval of Alexandre de Moraes for the Supreme Federal Court (STF).
"It's impossible that civil society isn't aware of the atrocities happening against our country. Important legacies are being destroyed by the current government. This coup-plotting and illegitimate government has been carrying out regressive actions against the Brazilian people. They are destroying the legacy of Ulisses Guimarães, who was a protagonist in the Brazilian Constitution. When they take away the rights won by workers, they throw away the legacy left by Getúlio Vargas; and when they negatively impact social and political advances, they harm the legacy left by former President Lula," said the congressman from Bahia.
The nomination of Alexandre de Moraes for the Supreme Court Justice position was approved by a vote of 55 to 13 in the Senate plenary session this Wednesday. Of the 81 senators, only 13 did not vote. With the approval, Moraes will assume the seat left vacant by Teori Zavascki.
"There was no impartiality in this appointment, and history repeats itself when a popular government is replaced by a conservative government that never truly considered the country's progress. We are increasingly moving against democracy, the rule of law, and the achievements gained in recent times."
