Tocantins 247 - Governor Sandoval Cardoso (SD) delivered equipment to the Tocantins Military Fire Department this Wednesday, the 18th, representing an investment of R$ 27 million. The event took place alongside the launch of Firefighter Week in a simulation held in a commercial building located in Block 104 South, JK Avenue, in downtown Palmas.

"This equipment will provide greater safety for the people of Tocantins and will improve the working conditions of the Fire Department, which will be able to carry out rescues and fight fires at heights using the new vehicles with ladders, given that cities have become increasingly vertical, not to mention the equipment for fighting wildfires and forest fires," highlighted the governor. The event was attended by deputies, political leaders, and the former Secretary of Institutional Relations, Eduardo Siqueira Campos (PTB).

At the event, the governor officially delivered a 60-meter Magirus ladder – the world's largest ladder designed for firefighting and rescue vehicles, a vehicle with a 32-meter-high articulated rotating ladder, five Forest Fire Tanker Trucks (ABTR), eight Rescue and Salvage Fire Pump Trucks (ABSR), two rescue platform vehicles, and two quad bikes used for patrolling crowded areas, such as beaches.

During the simulation, firefighters used the 32-meter-high rotating ladder to remove a victim from the top of the building and fight the simulated fire. Meanwhile, the world's tallest ladder, measuring 60 meters, carried the state governor and the mayor of the capital, Carlos Amastha (PP), on its platform for a demonstration for the public.
