At the meeting, the Deputy Secretary of Planning and Management, Wieland Silberschneider, guaranteed that, should there be an increase in the national minimum wage in the coming years, the Minas Gerais government's readjustment policy will reflect this difference in the calculations for adjusting civil servants' remuneration according to the State's financial capacity, ensuring that in 2018 civil servants will reach the current national minimum wage.
From the Minas Agency - Representatives from the government and labor unions met this Monday (March 30th) for another meeting of the Working Group that discusses the remuneration of Education careers. In this sixth meeting, the State Government presented details of the payment of the minimum wage for teachers until 2018.

Beginning the process of valuing the teaching profession, the government also proposed the creation of the Basic Education Enhancement Bonus, which consists of a 5% increase for every five full years of effective service in the career, starting from January 2012. Another proposal under discussion is the creation of an Academic Qualification Bonus of 5% for employees with a Master's degree and 10% for a Doctorate, regardless of their career level.
