Minas News Agency - The Government of Minas Gerais announced that, with the blocking of commissioned positions in the state administration, it has saved R$ 50,5 million up to this month, according to information published in the Sunday edition (13) of the Estado de Minas newspaper. According to the report, the measures are part of the restructuring announced by Governor Antonio Anastasia at the end of July. The amount corresponds to 54,3% of the R$ 93 million planned until 2014. According to the State Secretariat of Planning and Management (Seplag), the blocking is being done in stages. A resolution blocked another 700 positions. As reported by the newspaper, other commissioned positions, gratified functions and temporary bonuses had already been blocked since the publication of Decree 46.289, of July 31.
In an interview with Estado de Minas, the Undersecretary of People Management at Seplag, Fernanda Neves, explained that the restriction on commissioned positions and gratified functions does not affect the positions of trust in schools, hospitals, and prison and socio-educational units. “The savings obtained so far correspond to the first stage of the position freeze, as defined by the General Coordination, Planning, Management and Finance Chamber. Part of the freeze will be completed next year, starting with the administrative restructuring that will reduce the number of secretariats from 23 to 17, as announced,” stated the Undersecretary.
