Government creates stipend for prison officers.

Alagoas 247 - The State government has submitted to the Legislative Assembly (ALE) a bill establishing a professional qualification grant for prison officers. The act is published in the State Official Gazette (DOE) this Monday (22). The grant is valid for 10 months and the total amount reaches R$ 7.200 per employee.

According to Message No. 41, the purpose of the bill is to provide public servants with "the means to obtain the special training necessary for the proper performance of their public duties."

The proposal seeks to continue valuing workers by encouraging qualification, ongoing training, and preparation for the daily challenges of the profession, taking into account the high degree of complexity of the role.

The scholarship benefit will be granted to the agent who is attending qualification courses at the School of Government, the Penitentiary School, or the School of the National Secretariat of Public Security (Senasp). To maintain the scholarship, the employee must attend at least 80% of the courses and training sessions.

The scholarship will be forfeited by the employee who is not enrolled in an authorized course, fails to meet the minimum attendance requirements, requests exclusion from public service, or has their employment terminated in any way. The scholarship is valid for 10 months, with a total value of R$ 7.200 per employee.

"It should be noted that there is budgetary availability to support the financial effects of this proposal and, furthermore, that the payment of the Professional Qualification Grant is of an indemnifying nature, the duration of which will be for a determined period," continues the act, signed by Governor Renan Filho (PMDB).
