Governor Jackson Barreto visited the home of player William Thiego de Jesus' grandmother on Sunday morning (4), to embrace the family and express solidarity; friends and family await the arrival of the body on Recife Street, José Conrado de Araújo neighborhood, where the wake will take place; the burial is scheduled for 16 pm, at the Colina da Saudade cemetery; "I ask God to protect you, Mrs. Helena, and that you be strong. Now is the time to pray a lot and ask God to comfort everyone. This is a difficult moment, but I have never seen so much solidarity," declared the governor to Thiego's grandmother.

Brazilian soccer player William Thiego de Jesus was one of the 71 victims of the plane crash in the early hours of Tuesday, November 29th, in Medellín, Colombia. He began his career in the state, playing for Club Sportivo Sergipe. The defender played for several Brazilian teams, such as Bahia and Ceará, as well as a Japanese team and another from Azerbaijan. He joined Chapecoense in 2015. On the night of the accident, Thiego was traveling to Colombia, where he was going to play in the final of the Copa Sudamericana.
