Tocantins 247 - With the conclusion of the 15th edition of the Tocantins Agricultural Technology Fair (Agrotins Brasil 2015), where innovations in the Brazilian agricultural sector were presented, attracting producers, family farmers and entrepreneurs from the productive sector, Governor Marcelo Miranda visited the Caterpillar (CAT) manufacturing and assembly unit in the municipality of Piracicaba, 157 km from the capital of São Paulo, this Monday, the 11th.

During the visit, Marcelo and his team were received by the company's CEO in Brazil, Odair Renosto, and the Director of Government and Corporate Affairs, Suely Agostinho.

The visit represents a strengthening of relations between the State Government and the company, considered a leader in the production and sale of agricultural machinery. In Tocantins, the Tractor and Equipment Company (Sotreq – CAT) has a representative store in the capital, selling products and machinery intended for small and large producers, with many of the equipment being used in the planting and harvesting of soybean and other grain crops, responsible for a large part of the state's income generation.

According to Governor Marcelo Miranda, the visit reinforces the government's proposal to expand relations between the public sector and major manufacturers of agricultural equipment. "Tocantins has an economic identity focused on the riches of the countryside. That's why we came to see the structures of the companies that supply machinery to our producers," he stated.
