Tocantins 247 - Senatorial candidate Eduardo Gomes, from the coalition "The Change We See," spoke on Monday, the 8th, about the partnership with the state government and the importance of work focused on Tocantins. "The senator is from Brazil, but the mandate is from Tocantins. The benefit should go directly to the people of Tocantins," said Gomes, in an indirect jab at Senator Kátia Abreu, the reelection candidate from the coalition "The Change We See," who is accused by opponents of dedicating herself more to national politics.
With the support of Eduardo Gomes, the new government of Sandoval Cardoso is repairing the streets of almost all cities in Tocantins. "As a congressman, he helped to unlock, together with the Senate, the financing that will bring asphalt from the largest to the smallest municipality in Tocantins. The financing approved with Banco do Brasil was R$ 140 million for approximately 19 million m² in urban works," says the program.
In a statement for the electoral program, the mayor of Pequizeiro, Paulo Toledo, stated that Gomes has always been receptive to mayors and councilors, who are the ones who best understand the needs of the people of Tocantins. "He certainly has open doors for mayors and councilors who go to Brasília to request resources to improve the quality of life for their people here in Tocantins," he affirmed.
During his three terms as a congressman, Gomes brought resources to more than one hundred municipalities and social institutions, benefiting many people from Tocantins. "He did it as a congressman and will do even more as a senator to secure resources for the largest street paving plan in the history of Tocantins," the program says.
