Goiás is among the states that have reduced crime the most.

According to a report by Estadão, Goiás ranks 7th among Brazilian states with the greatest reduction in homicides (-11,24%), comparing the first half of 2017 to the same period in 2016; the Secretary of Public Security and Penitentiary Administration, Ricardo Balestreri, points out that the state showed a decrease in all 12 categories of high-priority crimes monitored by the agency.

Goiás 247 - In a report published this Monday (21), in the newspaper O Estado de S. Paulo, Goiás is 7th among the states with the greatest reduction in homicides (-11,24%), when comparing the first half of 2017 with the same period in 2016.

The Secretary of Public Security and Penitentiary Administration, Ricardo Balestreri, points out that the state has seen a decrease not only in homicides, but in all 12 categories of high-priority crimes monitored by the agency.

Balestreri highlights the importance of scientific knowledge, intelligence, rationality, systemic vision, and investments in education as the way to combat violence.
