'Go, Brazil Go': Spike Lee will interview people from Bahia.
An American filmmaker will take advantage of the Salvador Carnival to interview personalities for his new documentary, which will focus on the decisive moment Brazil is experiencing, with the 2014 World Cup and the 2016 Olympic Games, as well as having, for the first time, a woman as president of the Republic; the script includes figures such as Governor Jaques Wagner (PT); Mayor ACM Neto (DEM); and singers Ivete Sangalo, Daniela Mercury and Carlinhos Brown; 'Go, Brazil Go' will be presented at the Cannes Film Festival shortly before the 2014 World Cup.

American filmmaker Spike Lee will come to Salvador's Carnival to interview personalities for his new documentary, 'Go, Brazil Go'. The itinerary includes interviews with Mayor ACM Neto (DEM); Governor Jaques Wagner (PT); singers Ivete Sangalo, Daniela Mercury, and Carlinhos Brown; the president of Olodum, João Jorge Rodrigues; and Mãe Stella de Oxóssi.
According to Lauro Jardim, a columnist for Veja magazine, the documentary will focus on the decisive moment Brazil is experiencing, about to host the 2014 World Cup and the 2016 Olympic Games, in addition to having, for the first time, a woman, Dilma Rousseff, as president of the Republic.
Last April, he traveled through São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, and Brasília, interviewing personalities such as the president herself, former president Lula, singers Criolo, Gilberto Gil, Caetano Veloso, Marisa Monte, and Tom Zé, as well as actors Lázaro Ramos and Wagner Moura, and soccer player Neymar.
The documentary is being produced by Paranoid, a company owned by director Heitor Dhalia (The Smell of the Drain, Adrift) and producer Tatiana Quintella. According to Veja magazine, it is expected to premiere in 2014, before the World Cup, at the Cannes Film Festival.
Until then, the director must return to the country four more times to speak with ordinary people and finalize the schedule of selected personalities.
Former president Fernando Henrique Cardoso, artist Vik Muniz, singer Gal Costa, artist Tomie Ohtake, former soccer players Pelé and Ronaldo, swimmer Cesar Cielo, and former gymnast Daiane dos Santos, among others, are still to be heard.
