Without fanfare or sensationalism from the press, Senator Aécio Neves (PSDB-MG) testified at the Federal Police headquarters in the inquiry investigating the manipulation of data from the 2005 Postal Service CPI (Parliamentary Commission of Inquiry). The politician is suspected of "manipulating" data from the CPI and concealing an alleged connection between the rural bank and the PSDB's mensalão (monthly allowance) scheme.
According to the informant, former Senator Delcídio do Amaral said that Aécio sent emissaries to the CPI (Parliamentary Commission of Inquiry) to block the lifting of confidentiality on individuals and companies under investigation, including Banco Rural. To the press, Aécio says that Delcídio's accusations are "absolutely unfounded." It is strange, however, that Aécio's testimony did not receive live coverage on Globo, every half hour, or even a helicopter flying over the location.
