Geddel sold the plane to the Batista family's company.

Former minister Geddel Vieira Lima sold an aircraft to J&F, a holding company that brings together businesses of Joesley and Wesley Batista and controls JBS; the deal was made in 2012, when Geddel held the vice-presidency of corporate banking at Caixa Econômica Federal and was responsible for releasing loans to companies, including J&F companies.

Bahia 247 - J&F, the holding company that brings together the businesses of Joesley and Wesley Batista and controls JBS, bought an airplane from former minister Geddel Vieira Lima (PMDB) in 2012 for R$ 700.

The deal was made while Geddel held the vice-presidency of corporate banking at Caixa Econômica Federal and was responsible for approving loans to companies, including J&F companies.

According to investigations by the Federal Police and the Federal Public Prosecutor's Office, Geddel acted in the release of loans in exchange for bribes between 2011 and 2013 and allegedly benefited J&F companies, such as JBS.

The former Minister of the Government Secretariat under Temer has been in pre-trial detention since September 8, three days after the Federal Police found R$ 51 million in an apartment in Salvador that had allegedly been loaned to the PMDB politician.

The sale of the airplane is not the only link between Geddel and J&F. He owns farms in the Itapetinga region (BA) and sells cattle to JBS, which has a slaughterhouse in the city.
