Geddel rejects 'better position' to support the PT.
While members of the Workers' Party (PT) chant for the dismissal of the Vice President of Corporate Banking at Caixa Econômica Federal (a Brazilian state-owned bank), the government seems to be giving him prestige; at least that's what a note in the Holofote column of Veja magazine shows in this week's edition. The magazine says that Vice President Michel Temer approached Geddel to try to change his mind and make him join the PMDB party to 'boost' President Dilma's reelection campaign; but Geddel not only rejected the proposal but also reiterated his tendency to campaign for Aécio Neves (PSDB) or Eduardo Campos (PSB). How long will Dilma and the PMDB continue to support his continued presence at Caixa?

Fearless, bold, and insubordinate are some of the adjectives that apply to the Vice President of Corporate Banking at Caixa Econômica Federal, due to his often conflicting stance with the government of President Dilma Rousseff.
Despite presiding over one of the largest PMDB directorates – that of Bahia – and being the party's national secretary, the former minister does not hide his belief that the party should break the alliance made with Dilma in 2014 and is the most scathing critic of the administration of his former ally Jaques Wagner, the state governor.
While members of the Workers' Party chant for Geddel to be dismissed from his position at Caixa Econômica Federal, the government seems to be giving him prestige. At least that's what a note in the Holofote column of Veja magazine suggests in this week's edition.
Titled "Serving Rivals," the article states that Vice President Michel Temer approached Geddel to try and persuade him to change his mind and join the PMDB party in order to "boost" President Dilma's reelection campaign.
According to the publication, Temer suggested that Geddel give up running for Governor of Bahia in 2014 to support Dilma and Wagner's candidate to succeed him. In exchange, he could be promoted "to a better position".
But according to Veja, Geddel not only rejected the proposal but also reiterated his tendency to campaign for either Aécio Neves (PSDB) or Eduardo Campos (PSB), the governor of Pernambuco, in next year's presidential race.
