Francischini, from the CPI (Parliamentary Commission of Inquiry), says he is receiving death threats.

Cited in a wiretap as an ally of the spy Dad and the illegal gambling operator Carlos Cachoeira, the police chief and congressman Fernando Francischini (PSDB/PR) says he will only approach the two if it is to handcuff them; in a press conference, he reiterates that he was wiretapped by the government of the Federal District, but presents no evidence.

247 - This morning, 247 published another scoop related to Operation Monte Carlo: that, in a wiretapped phone conversation between the spy Dadá and the illegal gambling operator Carlos Cachoeira, Congressman Fernando Francischini (PSDB/PR), a member of the Parliamentary Commission of Inquiry (CPI), was mentioned as an ally of the criminal organization. Furthermore, he was described as someone willing to "screw over" Governor Agnelo Queiroz of the PT party, and even transfer his voter registration to the Federal District, where he would run for Governor of the Federal District.

Francischini spoke to 247, where he said he was not afraid of any kind of pressure. "I'm not afraid of anyone," he said. "I've already arrested drug traffickers Juan Carlos Abadia and Beira-Mar." Later, the congressman announced a press conference on Twitter and promised to present evidence that he had been wiretapped by the government of the Federal District.

In the press conference, he reiterated the accusation against Agnelo Queiroz, but presented no evidence. He only said that he has been receiving death threats on Twitter. "This has embarrassed my family, but it hasn't embarrassed me. I'm used to dealing with big drug traffickers. It's not bootlicking, white-collar politicians who are going to embarrass me," the congressman stated. He said he is being persecuted for being the protagonist of a series of investigations. "It's obvious that the accuser always tries to discredit the accuser," he justified.

Read below the report published earlier by 247 about the case:

The spies from the Federal District were the "victims" of the wiretapping.

247 – There will be no shortage of material for the Wiretapping CPI, established in the Federal District, to investigate an alleged Watergate that was supposedly set up in the Palácio do Buriti by allies of Governor Agnelo Queiroz, to investigate politicians, businessmen and journalists.

On Sunday night, a report by 247 revealed that one of the alleged targets of the wiretapping operation, the vice-governor of the Federal District, Tadeu Filipelli, a member of the PMDB party, was plotting against the governor. And, according to the investigation, he was paying journalists, such as Mino Pedrosa and Edson Sombra, to provoke the impeachment of Agnelo Queiroz. Mino's monthly payment, according to a recorded conversation of Sergeant Idalberto Matias, nicknamed Dadá, was R$ 100.

Now, new, even more shocking facts are emerging, involving another self-proclaimed victim of wiretapping: Congressman Fernando Francischini (PSDB/PR). On April 16 of this year, when Veja published the report "Red Spies," about the alleged wiretapping ring in the Federal District, Francischini announced that he would request the arrest of Governor Agnelo Queiroz.

What the investigation reveals, however, is far more serious. Francischini, who is a member of the Cachoeira Parliamentary Commission of Inquiry, maintained a close relationship with the spies of Carlos Cachoeira's gang – the same gang that, associated with the construction company Delta, intended to infiltrate the Federal District.

In appendix 7 of the inquiry (read more here), there are several mentions of Francischini's name – and all of them predate the publication of Veja's report on the "red spies".

On January 31st, Dadá refers to a message sent by Francischini. Dadá also refers to a contract with the Civil Police of the Federal District and a meeting with the PSDB (Brazilian Social Democracy Party) congressman.

On February 4th, Dadá calls the illegal gambling operator Carlos Cachoeira and reveals that he has been receiving help from Francischini. He even says that the PSDB (Brazilian Social Democracy Party) congressman is bringing his voter registration card from Paraná to the Federal District, where he intends to run for governor.

- The person who told me was a guy who's helping us... yeah, setting up an office there, with that delegate Francischini, funding it to screw over the governor... and Francischini is bringing – he's a federal deputy who's a delegate – he's bringing his title to run for governor.

On April 16th, Veja published a report about the red spies. On the 17th, Francischini filed a complaint with the Attorney General's office, requesting the arrest of Agnelo Queiroz, alleging that the governor had conducted a thorough investigation into his life. He just didn't mention that, three months earlier, he had been meeting with the informant Dadá, who was spying on the Buriti government.
