Fortunati postpones bidding process for bus routes.

The mayor of Porto Alegre had promised to publish the tender for the 388 public transport lines by December, which did not happen; EPTC defends José Fortunati, claiming that it is awaiting a decision from the State Court of Auditors regarding the tariff model that will be used.

Políbio Braga's Blog The bidding process for the 388 bus routes operated by private companies in Porto Alegre has been postponed until this year. Mayor José Fortunati had promised to publish the tender by December, which did not happen. EPTC (the public transportation company) defends the mayor, claiming that it is awaiting a decision from the State Court of Auditors regarding the tariff model that will be used.

Other tenders from the Porto Alegre City Hall that were postponed to 2014:

- New taxis = By March, EPTC should launch a tender for 105 new license plates;
- Revitalization of the Guaíba Riverfront = The Porto Alegre City Hall is awaiting the conclusion of the review by the State Court of Auditors before it can publish the tender;
- Sertório Bike Path = The detailed design for the 12-kilometer bike path on Sertório Avenue has already been finalized. The tender is pending approval from EPTC (Porto Alegre's public transportation company).
