Flamengo defeats Vitória and enters the G-4

In the clash of red-blacks, which started at 21 pm, in Volta Redonda (RJ), the Cariocas prevailed over the Bahians of Vitória by 1-0. The goal of the match was scored by the striker Felipe Vizeu.

At the Raulino de Oliveira stadium, Flamengo and Vitória played a very competitive first half, but with few scoring opportunities. Playing at home, Flamengo came closest to scoring in the 29th minute, but defender Diego Renan cleared Mancuello's shot off the line. The visitors' most dangerous chance came in the 24th minute, through Vander, but his cross-shot went just wide of goalkeeper Muralha's post.

After the break, Flamengo improved their game and scored the winning goal through young Felipe Vizeu. In the 18th minute, the striker received a pass from Arão and headed the ball in to make it 1-0. With this result, the Rio de Janeiro team secured their second victory in the 2016 Brasileirão and reached fourth place. Leão, who haven't won in three games, are in 13th position with 5 points.

For the sixth round of the Brasileirão, Flamengo and Vitória return to the field next Sunday (5), at 16 pm. The Rio team will host Palmeiras at the Mané Garrincha stadium, in Brasília. Also at home, at Barradão, in Salvador, the Bahia team will face the leader Internacional.
