Campos' son should be included in the PSB's campaign guide.

The final stretch of the campaign for the Pernambuco state government has gained a new element with the recording of former first lady Renata Campos's testimonial for PSB candidate Paulo Câmara; now, the eldest son of former governor Eduardo Campos, João Campos, will also be able to campaign for the socialist in radio and television election broadcasts; since his father's death on August 13th, João has been participating in a series of PSB campaign events in various municipalities of the state; the party now wants to "polish" the young man to compete in the next elections.

Pernambuco 247 - The final stretch of the campaign for the Pernambuco state government gained a new element in recent days with the recording of former first lady Renata Campos's testimonial for PSB candidate Paulo Câmara. Now, the son of the eldest son of former governor and presidential hopeful Eduardo Campos, João Campos, will also be able to campaign for the socialist candidate on radio and television. Since his father's death in a plane crash in Santos, on the coast of São Paulo, on August 13th, João has been participating in a series of PSB campaign events in various municipalities of the state.

The PSB campaign coordination already possesses several recordings of João Campos participating in public events, as well as testimonials, alongside Paulo Câmara. According to Folha de Pernambuco, however, the intention to use this material is being carefully evaluated by the PSB to avoid the participation being seen as something aggressive towards the former governor's image or as having an electoral purpose. The airing of Renata Campos's testimonial earlier this week was harshly criticized by the opposition, who considered it a kind of "emotional manipulation."

Care must also be taken regarding João Campos' own image. The young man, who until his father's death had a relatively low profile, has begun to engage more strongly in the PSB campaign in recent weeks. "It's impressive. Nobody expected this. He has a magnetism that captivates people. He manages to interact with the people better than many candidates with years of experience. He has everything to become a significant political leader in the coming years," says a member of the socialist campaign. The goal of the Pernambuco PSB now is to "polish" the young man so that he can compete in the next elections.
