Quadrilha Festival calls for "Free Lula"

This past weekend, the Monte Alegre Settlement in Tamboril, Ceará, held its traditional June Festival of Quadrilles for the Agrarian Reform. During the festival, young dancers held a banner demanding the release of former president Lula.

Ceará 247 - This past weekend, the Monte Alegre Settlement in Tamboril, Ceará, held its traditional June Festival of Quadrille Dances for the Agrarian Reform. Seven quadrille groups performed during the two days of the festival.

The festival is organized by the Community Association of Settlers of the Monte Alegre Settlement (ASCOAMA), of the MST (Landless Workers' Movement), and features performances by June festival groups from settlements and traditional communities in the region.

During the festival, young revelers danced with a banner calling for the release of former president Lula.
