The 2013 São Paulo State Championship celebration honors Marin.
At the event, the tournament's all-star team was also chosen, notably including midfielder Paulinho, attacking midfielder Jadson, and forward Neymar; the president of the CBF (Brazilian Football Confederation) was chosen to present the awards for best forward of the year, one of which was given to Neymar, and to the champion team, Corinthians.
247 - The President of the CBF (Brazilian Football Confederation), José Maria Marin, was honored during the awards ceremony for the best teams and players of the 2013 São Paulo state championship, on Monday night, the 20th. Visibly moved, Marin expressed his gratitude for the honors he received.
The official was also chosen to present the awards for best striker of the year, one of which was given to Neymar, and to the champion team, Corinthians.
At the event, the 2013 Paulistão Chevrolet All-Star Team was also selected, chosen by journalists from media outlets in the cities that had teams representing them in the state championship.
Notable among the players present are midfielder Paulinho, attacking midfielder Jadson, and forward Neymar, who, called up by Luiz Felipe Scolari, will represent Brazil in the Confederations Cup.
Finalist Corinthians dominates the team envisioned by media professionals, with six players, followed by the other finalist, Santos, which also boasts the tournament's star player: Neymar.
Based on votes from journalists, the 2013 Paulistão Chevrolet team of the year will be selected in a 4-4-2 formation, featuring two defensive midfielders who know each other well, two attacking midfielders with complementary characteristics, as well as a strike partnership consisting of one fast player and one who specializes in penalty area strikers.
In goal, Rafael, from Santos, was decisive in the final stretch, securing the spot. On the right flank, the consistency of Corinthians' Alessandro was rewarded alongside his teammate Gil, who is making his debut on São Paulo pitches, the solid defender Cleber from Ponte Preta, and the skillful left-back Rodrigo Biro, from the debuting and surprising Penapolense.
The hypothetical midfield of this team would be quite well-coordinated, with Corinthians' defensive midfielders Ralf and Paulinho in the holding role, and Danilo in the playmaker role. Alongside the three Corinthians players is the speedy Jadson from São Paulo.
In attack, besides Neymar, who was also chosen as the best player of the championship, there is the Peruvian center forward Paolo Guerrero, who has scored eight goals so far in the competition and has won over the Corinthians fans and the respect of the playmakers with his incredible presence in the penalty area.
Coach
At 31 years old, Dado Cavalcanti could very well be the revelation of the competition, as he led the second-best team in the first phase. The Mogi Mirim team, coached by the young man from Pernambuco, finished just two points behind São Paulo, thrashed the strong Botafogo 6-0 in the quarterfinals, and was eventually eliminated by Santos in the semifinals only on penalties.
Revelation
Elected the best left-back of the entire competition, the skillful Rodrigo Biro played in his first Campeonato Paulista Série A1 this season. Having previously played for Atlético Araçatuba, his hometown club, Biro stood out while wearing the Penapolense jersey, a club he joined in 2011.
Interior Star
Wearing the number ten jersey for the sensation of the championship from the interior, Mogi Mirim, Roni came close to securing a spot in the ideal midfield of the team, but won the award for best player among those who played for teams from the interior. After a good 2012 Paulistão Chevrolet, where he alternated between the bench and the starting lineup, Roni matured and this year he owned the position in Dado Cavalcanti's team.
Star of the São Paulo State Championship
Considered the leading Brazilian player today, Neymar maintains his dominance and, in his fifth São Paulo state championship, wins the award for best player for the fourth time. In 2009, when he debuted in the competition, he won the award for revelation of the championship, while Ronaldo, then playing for Corinthians, won the title of best player of that São Paulo state championship.
