The National Handicraft Business Fair (Fenearte), held at the Convention Center in Olinda, Greater Recife, concluded this past weekend with a record attendance for its 14th edition: 312 people. With an economic impact of R$ 44 million, the event ended with a 10% increase in business deals compared to last year.

With an economic movement of R$ 44 million, the event ended with a 10% increase in business closed compared to last year. The investment in Fenearte, considered the largest handicraft fair in Latin America, was R$ 4,8 million.
The event featured five thousand exhibitors occupying an area of 29 square meters to display their pieces. With the aim of stimulating local production, 70% of this space was allocated to artists from Pernambuco. Regarding international participants, the event included artisans from 48 countries, among them some who were represented for the first time, such as Iran, Bhutan, Iraq, and Colombia. In total, 800 booths were available.
This year's Fenearte honored women lacemakers, who had a dedicated 120 m² space. In addition, the event also featured a 337 m² area for the promotion and sale of products through business networking sessions organized by Sebrae. The goal was to connect buyers and suppliers, facilitating market access for artisans during and after the event.
