Felipe Martins, Forum Magazine - Videos showing Brazilian fans harassing Russian women have sparked outrage since going viral on social media this past weekend. One of the men who insisted the women repeat unprintable sexually suggestive phrases has been identified. The aggressor is lawyer Diego Valença Jatobá, former Secretary of Tourism, Culture and Sports of Ipojuca, on the coast of Pernambuco. He is seen in at least two of the videos circulating online, always laughing while committing the attacks, without the victims understanding what they were saying in Portuguese.
On social media, outrage gripped those who watched the recordings. "This is what these spoiled brats, pampered by daddy and who never heard 'no' at home, are going to do abroad, make Brazil feel ashamed," wrote one young woman. "Nothing new, just the Brazilian upper middle class showing more and more of its fascism," wrote a young man.
This isn't the first time an image of Diego has caused controversy on social media. He posted a photo on Facebook showing off a wad of $100 bills. Due to the negative reaction, he claimed the money wasn't his and that it was all just a joke with friends at a currency exchange.

Influential in the hotel industry, Diego Jatobá appears at a gathering with businesspeople from the tourism sector. The municipality of Ipojuca is home to Porto de Galinhas beach, one of the most visited in the Northeast. At an event in the region, his engagement is "blessed" by actor Bruno Gagliasso, under the watchful eyes of actress Grazi Massafera.
