Students hold protest against setbacks in education and #OutWithTemer
Today, August 11th, Student's Day, the student movement across Brazil is promoting an "Act in Defense of Public and Quality Education/Out with Temer and Against the Gag Law." In Fortaleza, the demonstration will include a march and cultural event in the Benfica neighborhood, with participants gathering at 15 PM in front of the Adauto Bezerra High School.
Today, August 11th, Student's Day, demonstrations are taking place throughout Brazil, with the "Act in Defense of Public and Quality Education/Out with Temer and Against the Gag Law".
Here in Ceará, the event is being promoted by student movement entities and education organizations. The demonstration will consist of a march and cultural event in the Benfica neighborhood.
The gathering for the event is scheduled for 15 PM, in front of the Adauto Bezerra school. From there, the march will proceed along Avenida 13 de Maio, passing in front of IFCE, ending at the intersection of Avenida 13 de Maio and Avenida Universidade. At the end, there will be a cultural event at the UFC's open-air auditorium.
The students are demanding free, quality public education and denouncing the ongoing attacks on the education sector, including the threat of the "School Without Political Parties" bill.
