The contract for its definitive installation was signed this Tuesday morning, the 26th, by Mayor Carlos Amastha, representatives of the company Infosolo Informática Ltda., winner of the bidding process for the implementation of the system, and the Secretary of Accessibility, Mobility, Traffic and Transportation (Smatt), Christian Zini.
For Mayor Carlos Amastha, signing the contract represents fulfilling a commitment to the population. "We will organize the public space, giving users more options, and we will also be able to begin revitalizing the parking areas," he emphasized.
For the definitive implementation of the Paid Rotating Parking System, the company must comply with an execution schedule, one of the first actions being a meeting, scheduled for September 02nd, with the Traffic and Transportation agents who will learn about the system.
The second meeting, according to Secretary Christian Zini, is scheduled to take place on the 09th in Taquari, with the presence of Mayor Carlos Amastha, as well as guests such as representatives from the Transit and Transportation Council, the Public Prosecutor's Office, the Palmas Commercial and Industrial Association (Acipa), the Palmas Innovation and Economic Development Council (Cidep), and the press.
"We will present how the system will work, as well as the implementation schedule," said the secretary. He explained that the company has up to 120 days to implement the system, but the intention is to start operating sooner, as there are already critical points in the city in parking areas.
The platform
Initially, the system will operate with 5.500 parking spaces in the city center from Monday to Friday during business hours, from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM. On Saturdays, from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM. There will be no charge on Sundays and holidays. On commemorative dates, the hours will be different, following the operating hours of businesses until a maximum of 10:00 PM, except for nighttime events or special operations.
In the blue zone, vehicle parking time will be limited to two hours. This zone includes Avenida JK (between Avenida NS-02 and Avenida NS-04) and the parallel streets NE-01, in Block 104 North, and SE-01, in Block 104 South. All other streets within these two blocks will be designated as the green zone and will have a maximum parking time of four hours. After this period, the driver will be required to vacate the space. The parking fee will be R$ 1,00 for every 30 minutes.
