"Mistakenly, the PT and Dilma brought the debate forward."

The assessment comes from Lídice da Mata, a pre-candidate for Governor of Bahia and enthusiast of Eduardo Campos' candidacy for President of the Republic, from the PSB party: "This anticipation was a mistake, and this insistence on continuing to discuss the matter is absurd. The press insists on anticipating scenarios that are still forming and have no deadline for being defined. The anticipation of the electoral debate served to hinder relations between the parties. It wasn't the right time."

A supporter of Pernambuco Governor Eduardo Campos' candidacy for president, Senator Lídice da Mata, from the PSB party, criticizes the PT party's "anticipation" of the electoral debate with the prior confirmation of President Dilma Rousseff's reelection candidacy.

"Mistakenly, the PT and President Dilma Rousseff brought the electoral debate forward. This anticipation was a mistake, and this insistence on continuing to discuss the matter is absurd. The press insists on anticipating scenarios that are still forming and have no deadline for being defined," the senator said in an interview with the newspaper Tribuna da Bahia.

Lídice, the potentially highest-rated candidate from the government's base in voting intention polls for the Bahia state government, also rejects the idea that candidacies can only be considered 'legitimate' with the approval of Governor Jaques Wagner (PT).

According to the pre-candidate for state governor, there is an internal dispute within Wagner's base that will result in unity or even more than one candidacy. The senator insists on the harm that bringing the debate forward to her own base. "Bringing the electoral debate forward has served to hinder relations between the parties. It wasn't the right time."
