Businessmen from Spain confirm visit to Minas Gerais.
The Minas Gerais state government will organize a delegation of Spaniards to visit the state and explore opportunities for new investments. Governor Antonio Anastasia (PSDB) is currently in Madrid, where Minas Gerais is being honored at the world's largest gastronomy festival.
From the Minas Agency - Governor Antonio Anastasia took advantage of Minas Gerais' participation as the main honoree at Madrid Fusión, the world's largest gastronomy festival, to promote and showcase the state once again in Europe. During his official trip to Spain, the governor held a series of events with political and business leaders from the country who, despite the international crisis affecting Europe, saw Minas Gerais as a good opportunity for investment.
“We had very positive conversations here in terms of recognizing a state that is still little known internationally. In an exhibition for businesspeople, we demonstrated the potential for partnerships. The atmosphere was so positive that we are going to organize a delegation of Spanish businesspeople who requested to visit Minas Gerais, precisely with the aim of identifying the possibility of these investments,” stated the governor.
Business leaders are showing interest in leveraging the significant social and economic growth that Minas Gerais has experienced in recent years, above the national average, as well as the high-quality human capital of Minas Gerais, to explore new business opportunities in Brazil. “The Spanish economic crisis is further driving Spain to explore good business opportunities in Brazil. And, at this moment, we have public-private partnerships in Minas Gerais that represent an immense opportunity because we are rebuilding the state's infrastructure with investments in airports, roads, and railways. They are very interested. It was a very positive meeting,” assessed Anastasia.
Business owners and executives from companies with high technological content are also showing interest in learning more about Minas Gerais, including ventures in the areas of solar and wind energy, as well as gas, who, knowing the potential of Minas Gerais, now want to visit the state. “We are even seeing companies specializing in, for example, the restoration of historical heritage and interested in the hotel industry, which is something we still need to improve. With the concession of Confins airport, we will be able to attract more direct international flights,” explained the governor in a press conference.
With this visit, the Government of Minas Gerais is also beginning another process to attract more international flights to Tancredo Neves International Airport in Confins, which could open another door for the state in Europe, attracting more tourists and business to Minas Gerais. “This is the beginning of a process. It's a long maturation process. But there is interest in the Belo Horizonte market, which is growing significantly. Confins airport has been the airport that has grown the most in percentage terms in recent years. This is very positive for us,” stated Anastasia.
