Tocantins 247 – The group of six parties called "Emerging," formed by PDT, PTC, PSL, PHS, PRP, and PRB, announced this Friday, the 27th, that it will join the base of parties that will support the reelection of Governor Sandoval Cardoso (SD).

The Emerging Party, led by the mayor of Palmas, Carlos Amastha, nominated Congressman Ângelo Agnolin (PDT) as Sandoval's running mate for vice-mayor and will support Congressman Eduardo Gomes (SD) for the Senate.

With the arrival of the Emerging Parties, the coalition supporting the ticket of Sandoval Cardoso, Ângelo Agnolin, and Eduardo Gomes now includes 17 parties: Solidariedade, PSDB, DEM, PP, PR, PTB, PPS, PSB, PRB, PDT, PEN, PHS, PTdoB, PSL, PTC, PRP, and PRTB.

With the union of the Emerging group and with Congressman Agnolin elevated to the main ticket, the group's candidate for federal deputy is the former Secretary of Institutional Relations of Palmas, Tiago Andrino (PP). "We have enough voters to elect Tiago Andrino without taking votes away from anyone," stated Agnolin.

"Chapão, no"

The Emerging Group, led by Carlos Amastha, insists on forming its own coalition for its state deputy candidates. This issue was addressed in the press conference as a sine qua non condition for joining Governor Sandoval's base. Some deputies from Solidariedade, the governor's party, advocate for the formation of a single proportional coalition, a "super-list" of candidates for state deputy.

According to the Secretary of Government of Palmas, Adir Gentil (PP), who participated in the meeting, Sandoval Cardoso has already given his approval to the formation of a proportional coalition of the Emerging group. Sources assured Tocantins 247 that the group has the potential to elect two state deputies.
