In three months, gasoline prices rose 11,3% in Palmas.
A fuel price survey in Palmas, released by Procon Tocantins, shows that from January to April of this year, the average price of gasoline in the capital city registered an increase of 11,3%. According to Procon, the highest price found for gasoline was R$ 3,590; for ethanol, the highest price was R$ 2,790, and R$ 2,990 for diesel. The lowest price was R$ 3,450 for gasoline, R$ 2,490 for ethanol, and R$ 2,760 for diesel. Compared to the same period last year, this represents an increase of 15,4% for the average price per liter of gasoline, 11,1% for ethanol, and 19,5% for diesel. The State Public Prosecutor's Office considers the fuel prices practiced in the capital to be abusive.
Tocantins 247 - The Consumer Protection Directorate of Tocantins (Procon) released on Tuesday, the 14th, the Fuel Price Survey of Palmas, which presents the maximum and minimum values of gasoline, ethanol, and diesel in all gas stations in the capital, divided by region.
According to Procon, the highest price found for gasoline was R$ 3,590. For ethanol, the highest price was R$ 2,790, and R$ 2,990 for diesel. The lowest price was R$ 3,450 for gasoline, R$ 2,490 for ethanol, and R$ 2,760 for diesel.
The variation, compared to the same period last year, reaches 15,4% for the average price per liter of gasoline, 11,1% for ethanol, and 19,5% for diesel.
According to the Procon's (Consumer Protection Agency) inspection manager, Magno Silva, the periodic price surveys conducted by the agency support consumer decisions, as well as those of regulatory bodies such as the State Public Prosecutor's Office (MPE). "This research is conducted periodically and made available on our website so that consumers can have a benchmark for comparison and make the best choice. Furthermore, it provides information to regulatory bodies and substantiates measures taken by them," he emphasized.
According to Silva, based on the price survey presented last month, the Public Prosecutor's Office issued a recommendation to the Fuel Retailers Union of the State of Tocantins (Sindiposto) that the prices charged – which were above the national average – be adjusted to the readjustment by the Federal Government. "Some gas stations have complied with the recommendation, but others have not yet," said the manager.
In a survey conducted in April, the southern region of Palmas had the highest average price per liter of gasoline – R$ 3,568 – and diesel – at R$ 2,934. The average price per liter of ethanol was R$ 2,716. In the central region and in Taquaralto, the average price per liter of gasoline was the lowest in the capital, at R$ 3,547. The average price per liter of ethanol was R$ 2,662 in the central region and R$ 2,666 in Taquaralto. Diesel had an average price of R$ 2,902 in Taquaralto and R$ 2,910 in the central region. The northern region had an average price of R$ 3,566 per liter of gasoline, R$ 2,728 per liter of ethanol, and R$ 2,932 per liter of diesel.
