Sergipe 247 - In his year-end address, Governor Jackson Barreto (PMDB) makes two references to Marcelo Déda (PT), who passed away on December 2nd. Even without directly mentioning the former governor's name, the reference to the Workers' Party member is clear. In the one-minute video, Jackson speaks of "lives that are lost, leaving us with an eternal longing." He also says that "the path has already been opened, we just need to move forward." Overall, the message is quite simple and beautiful.

Jackson, who will be running for governor in the new year, wishes in his message "that 2014 be a time of life and happiness for our people, for all those who, with the sweat of their labor, alongside the government, build a Sergipe that is increasingly just and better." The governor says he will continue "working to make Sergipe, more and more, a place of opportunities" and emphasizes that he will continue "working, above all, thinking about our people."

And in this passage of time, life is made;
Lives that are lost, leaving behind an eternal longing;
And lives that are reborn in faith, in work, in the courage to face everyday life.

May 2014 be a time of life and happiness for our people.
