Goiás 247 - Radio Interativa FM held its first debate with candidates for mayor of Goiânia this Monday morning, from 6 am to 8 am. Participating were Adriana Accorsi (PT), Francisco Júnior (PSD), and Vanderlan Cardoso (PSB). Without Iris Rezende (PMDB) and Delegado Waldir (PR), the debate was lukewarm and lacked direct confrontation between the candidates in the studio. Djalma Araújo (SDD), Alexandre Magalhães (PSDC), and Flávio Sofiati (PSOL) were not invited because electoral law allows the exclusion of candidates from parties with fewer than nine parliamentarians.
Vanderlan, who ranked highest in the polls among the three participants, delivered a critical speech regarding the current administration of Paulo Garcia (PT). The businessman also highlighted the achievements of his successful tenure as mayor of Senador Canedo.
Representative Francisco Júnior demonstrated knowledge of Goiânia's needs and opted for a technical approach. Calm and composed, Francisco avoided getting involved in controversies and didn't offer much criticism of the current mayor.
Adriana Accorsi recalled the success of some programs implemented by her father, former mayor Darci Accorsi, and did everything she could to avoid being associated with the current mayor.
