Senator Eunício Oliveira (PMDB-CE) was the target of a public shaming during the opening of the festivities in honor of Saint Anthony, this Sunday (29), in Barbalha (CE); Eunício, who attended the opening mass of the Saint Anthony festival, at the Rosário Church, was greeted with shouts of "Out with the Coup plotter" by the crowd; in the face of the protest, the parliamentarian and his entourage gave up following the procession to the Matriz Church, where the official opening of the festivities would take place.

After the mass, the senator – who was accompanied by the vice-mayor of Fortaleza, Gaudêncio Lucena, the state deputy Daniel Oliveira, as well as the mayor of Iguatu, Agenor Neto, and the former mayor of Maracanaú, Roberto Pessoa – left the church to watch the parade through the streets of Barbalha, where the demonstrations had begun.
Faced with the protest, Eunício and his entourage decided not to continue the procession to the Matriz Church, where the official opening of the festivities was to take place.
