Eliton approves changes to the retirement system for civil police officers.
The Vice-Governor and Secretary of Public Security met with members of associations and unions representing the category; he announced a favorable decision from the SSPAP (Secretariat of Public Security and Penitentiary Administration) regarding retirement with the maintenance of full benefits and parity of benefits, as well as the permanence bonus.
Goiás 247 - The Vice-Governor and Secretary of Public Security and Penitentiary Administration, José Eliton, received, on Friday (17), representatives of unions and associations linked to the Civil Police. They presented demands of the category - mainly those linked to the retirement of civil police officers -, obtained the agreement and support of the Vice-Governor and Secretary, and also highlighted advances and investments made in the corporation since José Eliton took over the Ministry, on February 25 of this year. The meeting was attended by the licensed delegate and federal deputy João Campos and by the Director-General of the Civil Police, Álvaro Cássio.
At the meeting, the vice-governor and head of the SSPAP (Secretariat of Public Security and Penitentiary Administration) expressed the Secretary's favorable opinion regarding special retirement – the term "special" being defined by the Federal Constitution because it refers to a high-risk activity – with the maintenance of full benefits and parity, as well as the permanence bonus that would be paid to professionals who retire but want to continue working.
Licensed delegate and federal deputy João Campos highlighted that this position from the SSPAP (Secretariat of Public Security and Penitentiary Administration) will mitigate the wait for civil police officers who were awaiting the processing of their retirement applications – there are cases in which the professional postponed the request in the expectation of resolving these obstacles. João Campos also emphasized the impact of the permanence bonus on the staff, since the civil police officer, even if retired, could continue in the position.
According to the president of the Union of Police Delegates of the State of Goiás (Sindepol), Silvana Nunes, these were long-standing demands of the category. “What we see now is that our rights have been recognized and guaranteed. The solution agreed upon today brings justice and speed to the retirement processes that were stalled,” she concluded.
In addition to Sindepol – represented by delegate Silvana Nunes – the meeting was also attended by the president of the Association of Police Delegates (Adpego), Waldson Ribeiro; the president of the Union of Civil Police Officers (Ugopoci), José Virgílio; the president of the Association of Police Fingerprint Experts (Appego), Juliana Soares; the president of the Association of Forensic Experts and Medical Examiners (ASPECGO), Antônio Macedo; the president of the Union of Criminal Experts and Medical Examiners (Sindipericias), Rony Castilho; among other Civil Police officers who are also members of unions and associations.
Recognition
The Chief of the Civil Police, Álvaro Cássio dos Santos, took advantage of the meeting to thank the Vice-Governor and Secretary for the benefits and advancements provided to the category. “On behalf of the Civil Police, I want to thank you for everything you have done for this corporation. Our police officers will feel even more motivated,” he said. “These rulings [favorable and related to police retirements] were of utmost importance and will help us significantly, as we have excellent police officers who can contribute even more to the institution [specifically referring to the seniority bonus],” he concluded.
Other participants in the meeting adopted a similar tone in their statements. They listed investments made by the State Government in just over four months since José Eliton took over the SSPAP (State Secretariat for Public Security and Penitentiary Administration). These included the inauguration of the police station in Senador Canedo, the delivery of new weapons, and the announcement of a fleet replacement for the police forces.
By way of illustration, on June 13th alone, 70 SMT submachine guns, 704 semi-automatic pistols, and 484 women's ballistic vests were delivered to officers at police stations located in the area surrounding the Federal District.
