Eduardo Campos offers the PSB party to Geddel in Bahia.

Bahia is one of the key areas in the Pernambuco governor's political maneuvering because the PSB party has strong representation in the Senate, with its local president, Lídice da Mata, holding the position; she is also the highest-rated pre-candidate for governor among Jaques Wagner's base. According to Folha de S.Paulo, for an agreement to be reached, the PSB would have to give up Lídice's candidacy to support Geddel Vieira Lima. She denies this for now, but doesn't rule out the possibility: "I won't say it's impossible because it sounds like a veto. There's no veto against anyone." Certainly, the PMDB in Bahia will not be supporting President Dilma in 2014; Geddel has already warned: "Never again a double platform."

Eduardo Campos offers the PSB party to Geddel in Bahia.

Romulo Faro _Bahia 247 - The newspaper Folha de São Paulo published in its edition this Thursday (3) a map with predictions of difficulties and compositions in general for the formation of a platform in the states for the governor of Pernambuco, Eduardo Campos, in his possible candidacy for president of the Republic in 2014.

Bahia stands out because the PSB party has strength due to the representation of its local president, Lídice da Mata, in the Senate, who is also the highest-rated pre-candidate for governor among those in Jaques Wagner's base.

According to Folha, for an agreement to be reached, the PSB would give up Lídice's candidacy to support Geddel Vieira Lima, who has never hidden his enthusiasm for Eduardo Campos' candidacy.

However, the senator told the Bahia Notícias website that the information is not true because the PMDB is the main opposition party to the government of Jaques Wagner, a member of the Workers' Party.

"That's speculation. I haven't been consulted, nor has anyone from the party. I think it's very unlikely that this could happen. The party has a strong presence in Bahia, and I don't think it's possible. I don't know where Folha got that information."

But despite her firm words, Lídice doesn't completely rule out the possibility. "I'm not going to say it's impossible because it sounds like a veto. There's no veto against anyone, but it's not the natural course of action."

Behind the scenes, however, information suggests that the arrangement is solid and that this would be the only possibility Eduardo Campos is considering to give up the senator's candidacy for governor. In exchange, he would have a strong platform with Geddel's PMDB party, the highest-rated pre-candidate in all scenarios after Mayor ACM Neto (DEM), who will not be running for the Palácio de Ondina (Governor's Palace).

Certainly, the PMDB party in Bahia will not be supporting President Dilma Rousseff in her 2014 reelection campaign. Geddel has already warned that "double campaigning is a thing of the past." He is referring to the agreement broken by the then-candidate in 2010, when she and former President Lula were supposed to share her platform with Jaques Wagner. The PT party members campaigned only for their fellow party member, who was easily re-elected in the first round.
