Tocantins 247 - The Tartaruga Eco-beach, located on the Tocantins River in the municipality of Peixe, 310 km from Palmas, attracts tourists from different regions of Brazil, thanks to its crystal-clear water, pleasant climate, and the white sand that covers the island. This season, it is expected that more than 100 people will visit the site, boosting the economy and generating employment and income.

Hotels and guesthouses in the municipality, especially on weekends, are packed. According to Rosilene Pereira da Silva Sousa, who has owned a beach stall for 29 years and a guesthouse near Ecopraia, all 47 rooms in her guesthouse are always occupied by tourists. "The path to building a dream began on the beach; today I have the guesthouse, and the business has exceeded my expectations," she emphasized.

The president of the Association of Small Beach Vendors, Josemar Araújo Barros, highlighted that many of the professionals working on the beach have already participated in the Tocantins Recebe Bem program, developed by the state government through the Tocantins State Tourism Development Agency (Adtur) in partnership with the Support Service for Micro and Small Businesses (Sebrae/TO), which trains micro-entrepreneurs in the food and beverage, lodging, customer service, and regional cuisine sectors. "We learned a lot from these training sessions, especially the best way to deal with the public and handle food, so the customer leaves satisfied with the service," he emphasized.
