'It's an absurd situation,' says congressman about Maranhão.

Deputy José Rocha, from Bahia and a member of the PR party, is yet another to criticize Waldir Maranhão's interim leadership of the Chamber of Deputies. The Republican said on Monday that it was an "absurd situation" for Maranhão to have been seen at a luxury restaurant during an official trip to Chile. "He's a stopgap president. He neither assumes the presidency nor allows the second vice-president to take over. It's an absurd situation. He goes on an official trip for the Chamber and is caught drinking expensive wine. This on a workday at the Chamber," lamented José Rocha.

Bahia 247 - Deputy José Rocha, from Bahia, from PR, is yet another to criticize Waldir Maranhão (PP-MA) in his interim leadership of the Chamber. In an interview with Metrópole radio this Monday (6), the Republican said it was a "bizarre situation" that Maranhão was seen in a luxury restaurant during an official trip to Chile.

"He's a caretaker president. He neither assumes the presidency nor lets the second vice-president take over. It's an absurd situation. He goes on an official trip for the Chamber and is caught drinking expensive wine. This on a workday at the Chamber," laments José Rocha.

José Rocha, deputy leader of the government until the vote on the admissibility of President Dilma Rousseff's impeachment in the Chamber of Deputies, says he does not regret voting against opening the process, and reaffirms that there is no basis for the arguments that led to the president's removal.

"I have no regrets. I was her deputy leader in the Chamber, I had no other alternative. I participated in the impeachment committee, I listened to the accusers and I listened to her defense. I studied the accusation process and saw that she did not commit any crime of responsibility that could remove her from office, and therefore, I voted knowing that she did not commit any crime."
