Raphael Coutinho _PE247 – Federal deputy Silvio Costa (PTB) was another person approached by Operation Dry Law. On Sunday night (25), the parliamentarian was stopped at a blitz set up on Avenida Herculano Bandeira, in the Pina neighborhood. According to PE247, Silvio Costa was driving the vehicle, with his youngest son in the passenger seat. When asked for his National Driver's License (CNH), the deputy said he did not have the document and also refused to take the breathalyzer test, stating that he had consumed alcoholic beverages. The information is from the State Health Department.

As stipulated in the Brazilian Traffic Code (CTB), the congressman was notified for refusing to take the test and for driving under the influence of alcohol, which entails a fine of R$ 957,00. In addition, he also received a notification for driving without a driver's license, amounting to R$ 574,62.

Next, João Paulo da Costa Cavalcanti, the congressman's son, came forward to retrieve the vehicle. However, the officers determined that he was the owner of the vehicle in question. Therefore, also following the Brazilian Traffic Code (CTB), the young man was cited for handing over the vehicle to a person without a driver's license, an infraction punishable by a fine of R$ 574,62. As he did not possess a permanent driver's license, his learner's permit was revoked.

The vehicle was only removed after the arrival of a third driver, this time qualified to drive the car, having previously undergone a breathalyzer test.

The reporter tried to contact Congressman Silvio Costa, but he did not answer and did not return our calls.
