The duplication of a new section of the CE-040 highway will be inaugurated tomorrow.

This week, the order to begin work on the duplication of a new section of the main access road to the east coast was issued.

Ceará247 - Governor Camilo Santana (PT) will inaugurate this Saturday (4) another duplicated section of CE-040, the main access road to the beaches of the East Coast. The section, which has a length of 25,2 kilometers, runs from Guajiru to Aracati (photo). The inauguration will begin at 9 am, in Aracati.

Earthmoving, paving, drainage, current and complementary engineering works, urbanization, horizontal and vertical signage, and environmental protection services were carried out. The investment for this section was R$ 48,5 million. The resources are from the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), through the Tourism Development Program (Prodetur).  

The complete project includes the restoration of existing sections as well as the adaptation and duplication of sections from Beberibe to Aracati, totaling 65,7 kilometers. The work is divided into four parts: Beberibe-Paripueira (31,98 km), Paripueira-Guajiru (11,7 km), Guajiru-Viçosa (7,4 km), and Viçosa-Aracati (14,6 km). The last section includes the construction of access to the locality of Jardim de Baixo, covering 3,2 km.

The road has already been widened from Guajiru to Viçosa and from Viçosa to Aracati, with the addition of access to Jardim de Baixo, totaling 25,2 km. The Beberibe-Paripueira section is currently under construction by the DER (Department of Roads and Highways). This week, the order to begin work on the widening of the Paripueira-Guajiru section (11,7 km) was issued, with an investment of R$ 25.094.418,66. The widening of the road, which should be fully completed by the end of this year, represents a total investment of R$ 120 million.
