Doria could face charges of misconduct for improper use of an airplane.

The mayor of São Paulo, João Doria (PSDB), uses an airplane from a company he has since left for his trips within Brazil and abroad. Furthermore, his aides received R$ 88 in per diem allowances from municipal funds to accompany him on these trips; the aircraft is operated by Doria Administrações e Eventos, a company belonging to the Doria Group. Experts believe this situation raises the same questions as if the company were any other – and could lead to accusations of administrative misconduct or conflict of interest.

SP 247 - The mayor of São Paulo, João Doria (PSDB), uses an airplane from a company he left for his trips around Brazil and abroad. Furthermore, his aides received R$ 88 in per diem allowances from municipal funds to accompany him on these trips.

The Legacy jet he uses formally belongs to Bradesco bank - according to ANAC (National Civil Aviation Agency), it is under fiduciary alienation, that is, it has not yet been fully paid off.

The aircraft is operated by Doria Administrações e Eventos, a company belonging to the Doria Group. When he won the municipal election, he left the company and passed control to his children.

According to experts, the situation raises the same questions as if the company were any other – and could lead to accusations of administrative misconduct or conflict of interest.

The politician alternates between using the Doria Group's plane and the jet of his lawyer, Nelson Wilians, who defends him and represents clients in dozens of lawsuits against the city government.

Doria and Wilians exchange flight hours on each other's planes. The lawyer's office is associated with three branches of Lide, an events company that Doria founded and from which he also resigned.
