The pre-candidate for governor of the state of São Paulo, João Doria (PSDB), will announce this Friday (20) federal deputy Rodrigo Garcia (DEM) as his running mate. The announcement will take place during an event scheduled for 12 pm at a hotel in the west zone of the capital of São Paulo; Garcia is from the wing of the party that defends a national alliance with the PSDB.

The Democrats have not yet finalized an alliance for the presidential election. Garcia belongs to the wing of the party that advocates a national alliance with the PSDB, according to Estadão.
The party is undecided whether to support Ciro Gomes (PDT) or Geraldo Alckmin (PSDB). The DEM has resisted some of Alckmin's proposals, such as the repeal of the labor law.
Alckmin is still struggling to reach 10% of the vote, even after serving as governor of the country's most important state.
