Owner of newspaper 'O Grito' dies after being shot in Santa Luzia

Mines 247 - The owner of the newspaper "O Grito" in Santa Luzia, in the metropolitan region, died late Wednesday night (17) after being shot. According to the Military Police (PM), Maurício Campos Rosa, 64, was hit by five shots in the Frimisa neighborhood.
He was near a car with the newspaper's logo. According to the police, no one saw the suspects. The area was cordoned off and forensic investigators found many spent cartridges scattered on the ground.
The businessman was taken in serious condition to the Emergency Care Unit (UPA) of São Benedito, in Santa Luzia, and later transferred to the Risoleta Tolentino Neves Hospital, in Belo Horizonte, where he underwent surgery and died at 23:45 pm.
In a statement, the Civil Police informed that a police investigation has already been opened to investigate the death of the journalist and businessman. The delegate presiding over the investigation, César Matoso, said that he will only comment upon the conclusion of the police work.
