247- The famous disco-era singer, Donna Summer, died this morning at the age of 63. According to information from the TMZ website, Donna Summer had lung cancer and did not want her audience to know about the illness.

Donna Summer achieved success with hits like "Last Dance," "Hot Stuff," "She Works Hard for the Money," and "Bad Girls," won five Grammys, and sold nearly 130 million records worldwide. She is considered a unique case in the disco scene. This is because Donna Summer began her career before the boom of the musical style and continued to be successful even after that phase.

Despite being one of the most well-known artists of the "Disco Era," Donna Summer's repertoire encompassed various genres, including rhythm and blues and rock, earning her Grammy Awards in these categories. Her work is still critically acclaimed, and she remains one of the few artists from the Disco Era still accepted by critics today.

Summer began singing in the choir of the church she attended. Later she joined a rock band called The Crow. A few months before graduating high school, Summer dropped out and joined the German production of the musical Hair. Subsequently, she moved to Europe, participating in several musicals.
