Ceará247 - Councillor Domingos Filho was elected this Thursday morning (1) as the new president of the Court of Accounts of Municipalities (TCM). He defeated Councillor Hélio Parente, the preferred candidate of the Government and the Ferreira Gomes family, by a score of 4 to 3.

Domingos Filho will serve a two-year term (2017/2018) and will have council member Manuel Veras as his deputy. Pedro Ângelo remained as the comptroller of the TCM.

Yesterday afternoon, the break between the political groups of Domingos Filho and the Ferreira Gomes family was announced after ten years of alliance. Domingos allegedly angered the Ferreira Gomes brothers by supposedly using his influence in the Court of Auditors to secure support for Deputy Sérgio Aguiar (PDT), who is currently competing with Zezinho Albuquerque (PDT) for the presidency of the Legislative Assembly.
