Djalma goes to the Public Prosecutor's Office to contest contract with travel agency.

The City Council, through the actions of its president Clécio Alves, signed a R$ 150 contract with a travel agency to provide airline tickets for council members. Djalma, who is an adversary of Clécio, considers the act immoral and will go to the Public Prosecutor's Office to try to block the contract.

Goiás 247_ Councilman Djalma Araújo (PT) is adding fuel to the fire that the City Council has become in the first half of the year. This time, the PT member announced that he will file a complaint with the Public Prosecutor's Office to have the City Council's contract with the company Santa Edwiges, worth R$ 150, evaluated to cover air travel services for council members, as reported by the newspaper O Hoje.

Djalma states that during the administration of President Iram Saraiva (PMDB), when he was part of the board as first secretary, the benefit was completely eliminated, as it was considered immoral. “It may be legal, but it’s immoral. I believe the legislature should be in the neighborhoods, close to the population. It should understand the local reality. The Chamber is regressing like never before,” he points out.

According to Djalma, this quoted amount is only for airfare. "And what about per diems? Meals? Excursions? Who guarantees that it won't be paid for with public money?" The Workers' Party member also insists on reminding everyone that the airfare scandal has been in the news several times as a corruption scheme.

"Scandals involving travel allowances and expenses are well known in this country. An article in the newspaper O Hoje shows yet another act that I consider an abuse on the part of the Goiânia legislature," and he laments: "The Chamber should set an example and not take measures that demonstrate abuse of public money."
