State school principals are removed from their positions.
The Padre Cabral State School, located in the Fernão Velho neighborhood, had all members of the management removed by the State Department of Education and Sport (SEE). The order, which determines the department's intervention in the school unit, was published in the State Official Gazette this Monday (2).
Alagoas247 - The measure was adopted taking into account "the ineffectiveness of the management and the inertia of the school staff, who were falling short" with regard to the well-being of the school community and compliance with the determinations of the State Department of Education. Another reason for the intervention was the administration's disregard for Law No. 6.628/2005, which establishes that the deputy directors of educational units must be elected by the school community through universal suffrage.
The unsatisfactory learning outcomes obtained by the school, such as the low performance in the Basic Education Development Index (IDEB), were also one of the points that motivated the intervention carried out by the State Education Department in the school unit.
Given all the reasons mentioned, the SEE (State Department of Education) decided to remove the school staff members and appoint new employees who will, from now on, intervene in the measures adopted at the school.
Professor Laudenice Maria Lins was appointed as general director and Professor Miguel Cássio de Souza Lessa was designated to assume the position of deputy director during the intervention period, which will last for 60 days - and may be extended for an equal period.
While in charge of the unit, they will have full managerial and pedagogical powers to conduct the work at Padre Cabral School.
The Education Department's decree can be found on pages 8 and 9 of the State Official Gazette.
