ANP Director announces new gas bidding blocks in Sergipe this Wednesday.
The 30 land blocks located in Sergipe will be offered in the 12th Bidding Round, scheduled for November; the blocks are located in the municipalities of Brejo Grande, Divina Pastora, Ilha das Flores, Japaratuba, Japoatã, Laranjeiras, Maruim, Neópolis, Nossa Senhora do Socorro, Pacatuba, Pirambu, Riachuelo, Santo Amaro das Brotas and São Cristóvão, totaling 938,22 km².
ASN - Acting Governor Jackson Barreto will receive the Director-General of ANP, Magda Chambriard, this Wednesday (23), at the Summer Palace, at 10:30 am, to announce the 30 onshore blocks located in Sergipe that will be offered in the 12th Bidding Round. The blocks are in the municipalities of Brejo Grande, Divina Pastora, Ilha das Flores, Japaratuba, Japoatã, Laranjeiras, Maruim, Neópolis, Nossa Senhora do Socorro, Pacatuba, Pirambu, Riachuelo, Santo Amaro das Brotas and São Cristóvão, totaling 938,22 km².2At 11:30 AM, there will be a press conference with the director-general and the acting governor.
The 12th Round, scheduled for November 28th and 29th, will offer a total of 240 onshore exploration blocks with potential for natural gas in seven sedimentary basins, in the states of Amazonas, Acre, Tocantins, Alagoas, Sergipe, Piauí, Mato Grosso, Goiás, Bahia, Maranhão, Paraná, and São Paulo, totaling 168.348,42 km².2 The round was authorized by Resolution no. 6 of the National Energy Policy Council, dated 6/23/2013.
There will be 110 blocks in new frontier areas in the Acre, Parecis, São Francisco, Paraná, and Parnaíba basins, as a way to attract investment to regions that are still little known or have technological barriers to overcome, allowing the emergence of new basins producing natural gas and conventional and unconventional petroleum resources. The area of these 110 blocks is 164.477,76 km².2.
Also included were 130 blocks in the mature Recôncavo and Sergipe-Alagoas basins, with the aim of continuing the exploration and production of natural gas from conventional and unconventional petroleum resources contained in these regions. These 130 blocks total 3.870,66 km².2In the Sergipe-Alagoas Basin, in addition to the blocks located in Sergipe, another 50 will also be offered in Alagoas.
