Minas 247 - President Dilma Rousseff, deposed by the coup, and the national president of the PT party, Senator Gleisi Hoffmann, are participating this Friday, the 8th, in the launch of the "Elas por Elas" campaign, for female representation in politics, in Contagem (MG).

In addition to the two women, Eleonora Menicucci, Minister of the Secretariat for Policies for Women during Dilma's government, and members of the PT's Women's Secretariat in the state are also present at the meeting.

In her speech, Dilma highlighted that Minas Gerais has many women in political positions, above the national average, according to her, and emphasized the situation of black women in Brazil and in politics.

"We are fighting for women's representation. To fight for the release of President Lula as well. To have equal pay, against the violence that falls upon women, against the differential treatment given in childhood, which transforms girls into subservient beings," she argued.

"But we know that, in recent years, in the last 13 years, it was the Workers' Party that fought for women's rights. And this fight is a fight for all women," she added.
